Just at the mirth and the midnight hour the faerie folk did ride
Amidst the sweetest maddening tunes…
From ancient gods replaced and shunned to nature spirits found
Benighted beings they roam till dawn!

Would you dare to walk the night to see the gleaming orbs?
Fancy beings or hellish fiends they both but looked the same
Come the Seelie sweetest folks the carefree spirit kin
Hark Unseelie the tyrant ones humanity they loathe

There were times when they but dwelled on land
Then the humans drove them underground
Some made homes in kingly tombs of old
Others made it cozy with the common folk

Though these two be same but mingled not
One is careless while the other is violent
